What I Have Learned About Chatbot

I am currently creating promotional material for my upcoming book The Bad Kids. This will be the first in a series of memoirs I will be releasing. I am going to create videos using AI generated photographs of people and objects relevant to the story. The picture below the title of this blog is a recreation of my friends and I circa 1981. Dave and Roy are pretty much spot on though I ended up more handsome than I actually was. Same with Rich, he also had a bigger nose. The prompt for that photograph is half a page of text and took numerous revisions. When I described Rich, I wanted there to be "a trace of pain behind the sarcasm."

That was blocked. You cannot create pictures of children in distress.

You cannot describe children as ugly or dirty, anything that shames a child, even an AI creation, will be blocked. The prompt has to describe "imperfect features" and "clothes that appear dusty and worn." Describe the kids as "Age 13"? Blocked. Had to change it to "early adolescence."

A big part of the story is when Rich shared his brother's porn collection with us. Could I pose us gathered around a magazine? Nope. What if the magazine is out of frame? Nope, us gathered together and looking at something implies we are looking at porn. So, I had to settle for a recreation of Rich's brother's room.

Too bad I couldn't recreate how it smelled...on second thought....

After I create a series of pictures, then I will use something like Canva to make a two to three minute promo video. I am also thinking of creating "films" of selected chapters.

The Bad Kids will be available in January 2026, exact date to follow.
