Kill the Homeless, Part II

Imagine…you drive or walk around your town and there are no dilapidated RVs, no tents or tarp structures on sidewalks or under bridges. No people struggling with their mental issues walking around in malodorous clothes, no one panhandling you. Where are all the homeless people? I’m glad you asked.

The homeless are now living on a large piece of land called the Farm. There are Farms all over the country: Farm 1, Farm 2, Farm 3, and so on. The largest structure is a care facility for the mentally ill with rooms set aside for visiting dentists and doctors. The second largest structure is the mess hall with bathroom facilities. All the residents live 150 square foot tiny houses without kitchens or bathrooms. Those homeless without mental health challenges exchange room and board for working in the gardens or caring for the animals. The gardens are large enough not just to feed to residents and employees, but to also provide income that goes towards running the Farm. Power is from a combination of things depending on the location of the Farm: Solar. Wind. Geothermal. Diesel generators converted to run on used cooking oil.

So, who benefits from these Farms? Basically…everyone. The homeless are now housed and the mentally ill cared for, their dignity returned and a sense of pride reestablished in their lives. Our streets are now free of tarp and tent neighborhoods and dilapidated RVs. The local economy of the rural area the farms are in are stimulated and jobs provided. Law enforcement in cities no longer has to deal with “homeless sweeps” and issues that arise due to the mentally challenged homeless people. Like this idea? Maybe kin the unhoused would be a kinder, more realistic title for your idea; since we all are kin, we can be kind. vvvmltybm
