IZAAK FOR PRESIDENT 2028

If I were running for president, these would be my objectives/goals.

Note: Most of the things I am proposing are things, to my knowledge, a president does not have the power to “make happen.” This is more me elucidating what I think would serve this country well in fourteen steps.

First: Federal minimum wage is raised to $10.25 per hour to be increased $1 per hour every year.

Second: Everyone has the same quality of health care as their elected representatives. This program and others I mentioned will be funded, in part, by higher taxes on individuals with an income above a certain point.

Third: Speaking of health care, abortion is federally recognized as a health care right and rights to receive an abortion by medical professionals is guaranteed in all states and territories.

Fourth: Free college education through a program. Those taking part of the program enter a higher tax bracket upon graduation. Those taking part of the program who do not graduate have to pay back bills incurred during their education.

Fifth: The “$100,000” plateau. Our representatives up to the President have a salary cap of $100,000 and public school teachers get $100,000 per year. Public school teachers will face stricter reviews and standards to ensure we retain only the best.

Sixth: Elected representatives—including Supreme Court justices—receiving “gifts” in any shape or form are automatically terminated and criminal charges brought against them.

Seventh: Drugs are divided into two classes, “L” and “I” (legal and illegal). Class L drugs are marijuana, hashish, mushrooms, cocaine, heroin, L.S.D.,mescaline, and peyote and other “naturally occurring” psychadelic drugs. Class I drugs include meth, fentynal, PCP, crack and any other drug created that is not currently under the Class L classification. Class L drugs are taxed and can only be bought in specially licensed shops. These taxes are earmarked to pay for the health care and education initiatives mentioned above. Anyone caught distributing Class I drugs is classified a “violent criminal” (see below). Speaking of violence, assault rifles are no longer allowed for private citizens and the process of buying a firearm entails more checks.

Eighth: Dealing with the unhoused. Safe lots are created for people living out of their vehicles in cities with the automatic registration for subsidized housing (which I would increase). Otherwise, living outside of these lots or recognized housing is prohibited. Unhoused persons who don’t have addiction or mental health issues will have the choice of moving on or serving a sentance on work farm. Unhoused persons who face mental health issues and addiction issues will be relocated to treatment facilities.

Ninth: Campaigns for elected officials are no longer allowed to receive private funding creating a “level playing field” for candidates of all parties. All candidates recieve the same amount of advertising including airtime.

Tenth: I would begin a ten year project to close all military bases outside the United States and retrain all personell directly effected by these closures. All military equipment, up to battleships, determined obsolete will be decommissioned. The goal is to create a leaner, more efficient military focused on securing our borders, ports, and skies.

Eleventh: Begin a five year project to close all prisons. Non-violent criminals are to be released with the understanding that if they are arrested again, they will be reclassified as violent criminals. A special “detention facility" will be created for those classified as violent criminals including pedophiles. Basically, we take a piece of public land that can sustain life/the weather isn’t too extreme totalling 640 acres (one square mile). We heavily mine its borders and stock it with game and potable water and drop in shelters. Criminals classified as violent are dropped in via helicopter and left to their own devices. Employees in the prison system will be retrained and the money saved by closing prisons will go towards improving public transpiration and health care.

Twelfth: Creation of a non-military draft. Upon completion of high school (or receipt of a G.E.D.) all young men and women—(no exceptions)—spend one year in public service, it could be keeping the eldery company in retirement homes, picking up trash, things like that. Why? To elucidate our commonality by living in the same place and wearing the same clothes despite your financial situation, religion, sex, and race. These draftees will be taught “basic adult skills” like small machine repair, finances, sewing, construction, and cooking to name a few. Currently disused commercial real estate will be repurposed into barracks and the owners' property taxes suspended.

Thirteenth: Electric vehicles are a red herring so all initiatives financial and otherwise towards the purchase of electric vehicles are suspended. A new fuel economy standard will be established and increased on a yearly basis. Federal sales tax on vehicles not meeting these standards and exceeding a set weight will increase five hundred percent, these taxes earmarked towards improving public transportation. Subsidized pricing for fuel—(aside from commercial trucking)—will end and that money will be repurposed towards public transportation.

Fourteenth: If the “Gaza situation” were to occur during my presidency, all assistance to Israel, financial and otherwise, would end until a ceasefire occurs. In return, United States special forces would assist the Mossad to conduct a highly pinpointed operation to kill the leaders of Hamas and their immediate families. Why? This is a culture that sees “martyrdom” as an honor so we would need this extra incentive to get them to rethink their goals. Also part of this agreement, a two state solution is enacted recognizing the rights to freedom and liberty in all forms to the Palestinians. Settlers violating this will be imprisoned. Also, Israel is responsible for all costs related to rebuilding Gaza.
